Track Days

For a little competitive fun or just something different to do on your holiday why not book yourself in for a track day?
Some track days can be expensive, like hiring a supercar for an hour to thrash around a racetrack. Whilst this is the extreme end of the equation, there are also plenty of track days that can be just as much fun and won’t leave your bank balance requiring first aid.
There are several go-kart tracks throughout the Pyrenees region, and one or two full-size tracks also where you can book yourself time on the track in either your car on tourismo days, or in an actual race car supervised by professional race drivers.
Circuit d’Albi is a full-size racetrack that has been at the cutting edge of motorsport in the region since the 1950s. At Circuit d’Albi you can watch championship racing at all levels, from classic racing cars to modern touring cars, to GP truck racing, but you can also have your own moments on the track to savour.
At Circuit d’Albi you can bring along your performance car and pit yourself against other enthusiasts, but if you really want a unique experience Circuit d’Albi in partnership with GT Drive can offer you the ultimate track day experience. You can do a few ‘hot’ laps with a professional driver around the circuit in a Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, or Porsche. However, as suggested above these adventures are not cheap – a couple of laps in a Lamborghini is 125€, so it’s certainly not for everyone.
Circuit d’Albi also offers courses in race driving from specialist professional instructors where you can attain a license to race on a live track. A license is required whenever you drive onto a live racetrack, whether in your car or a hired one. During this race driver instruction course, you will get to take a Porsche Cayman Clubsport GT4 through its paces on this legendary track, first as a passenger, then as the driver.
If it’s just a bit of slightly competitive family fun that you are looking for then maybe a day out at a karting circuit is the answer. Go-karting is a safe and fun way to let go of some energy in a controlled and supervised format. There are two Go Kart circuits in the Aude: Sunkart and Passionkart . Two circuits in the Pyrenees Orientales: Grand Circuit du Roussillon , and Karting St Cyprien , and in the Ariege there is Karting Midi-Pyrenees .
Most karting circuits are ready to welcome family groups and will have a restaurant on site,. Better yet pack a picnic lunch and stop along the many public picnic grounds throughout France for a great day out.
